Parent Code of Conduct

·       You will respect the umpires and their authority during games.

·       You will not coach your children or other players unless you are a coach.

·       You will respect coaching decisions regarding playing time, position, and placement. 

·       You will display good sportsmanship, and will not disrespect opposing fans, coaches, and players.

·       You will not force your child to participate in baseball or softball activities.

·       You will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of your child or the safety of other children.

·       You will have your child on time to practice and games and pick your child up on time.

·       You will not address any concerns with umpires or coaches during or after the game.  All such questions or concerns regarding players, coaches, or umpires should be addressed the day following the game.

·       You will ensure that your son or daughter has the necessary equipment to play the game.

·       You will respect the decisions of the League within any matters in its discretion and understand that the League’s Board members.

Any parent or guardian guilty of violating this conduct may be asked to leave the field or facility and may be suspended from future practices and/or games at the discretion of the League. There is zero tolerance for parents who intimidate, interfere with, enter the dugout without authorization, physically or abuse coaches, players, officials, or parents or other fans at League practices, games or other events.  Cresskill Alpine Baseball & Softball reserves the right to suspend any player for their parents’ violations of this Code of Conduct.

Photo Policy

By registering your son or daughter for Cresskill Alpine Baseball & Softball, you further agree that photographs or video may be taken of you or your son or daughter at games, practices or other events and you agree that such photographs or videos may be used to promote the League as determined in the sole discretion of the League.  Such use could include publications, media releases, announcements, electronic or otherwise, and on League websites or social media pages.  You further agree that your child’s name may be used in connection with such photographs or videos.  Neither you nor your child will receive any compensation because of the use of you or your child’s name, image or likeness.

Refund Policy

Refunds shall not be issued after a child has played in a game.  Refunds may be issued, less an administrative and payment processing fee up to the team’s first game.  Thereafter, no refunds shall be issued, except in exceptional circumstances beyond the player’s control.  If a player has received a uniform, but is otherwise entitled to a refund, the cost of the uniform shall be deducted from the refund unless the uniform has not been used.  If a player’s name has been written onto the uniform or hat, the uniform or hat may not be returned.

Waiver Policy

On behalf of my minor child and myself as my child’s guardian, I hereby consent to have my child participate in the Cresskill/Alpine Baseball League. I understand that here are certain risks of injury inherent in the practice and play of this sport as well as in traveling and other related activities incidental to my child’s participation, and my child and I are willing and agree to assume these risks. I also certify that my child has no physical or mental disabilities or infirmities that would restrict full participation, except as listed on this form. In addition to giving full consent for my child’s participation and on behalf of myself and my child, I do hereby waive, release and hold harmless the Cresskill/Alpine Baseball League, Inc. and its officers, coaches, sponsors, supervisors and representatives for any injury, physical and/or emotional distress that may be suffered by me or my child in the normal course of participation in the designated sport and the activities incidental thereto, whether the result of negligence or any other case.

Coaches Policy

By volunteering to coach for Cresskill Alpine Baseball & Softball (the “League”), You agree to the following League policies:

·      You agree to complete any necessary requirements set forth by the League, including, but not limited to, submitting for a background check and completing any necessary training identified by the League.

·      You agree to encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all players.

·      You agree to stress safety to your players and agree not to tolerate behavior that endangers the health or well-being of a player.

·      You agree to respect the umpires’ decisions.

·      You agree not to abuse other coaches, umpires, parents or players. If you have an issue with another coach, umpire, parent or player, you will address it after the game in a calm manner. If an issue persists, you may contact the League.

·      You agree to maintain an open line of communication with parents and players and to explain the goals and objectives of the League.

·      You agree not to use or be under the influence of alcoholic beverages, marijuana, or other illicit drugs at League games or events. You agree also not to use any tobacco products at a League games or events.

·      You agree to do your best to promote an atmosphere that promotes fun and learning about the game of Baseball/Softball.

·      You agree not to tolerate any player-on-player physical abuse, verbal bullying, or emotional bullying. 

·      You agree not to be alone with a minor athlete who is not your child or is otherwise related during the League’s programs and events unless (a) it is an emergency; or (b) there is written permission from the player’s parent/legal guardian

·      You will return any equipment provided to You at the beginning of the season at the end of the season or when requested by the League. Game balls provided at the beginning of the season do not need to be returned. 

·      You agree that the League reserves the right to suspend any coach for violating this policy or any other policy set forth by the League.

·      You further agree that the League has the right to amend this policy at its discretion.

I will teach all children to play fair and do their best

I will positively support all managers, coaches and players

I will respect the decisions of the umpires

I will praise a good effort despite the outcome of the game
